“I have been a client of Laura’s since 2005.  It is hard to believe that what started as a short-term strategy to improve my running has become such an important part of my life and that all these years later I would still be doing Pilates.  Pilates did help with my running in terms of mechanics and speed but more importantly it helped me with posture, balance, strength, flexibility and self-confidence.  I noticed an even bigger benefit once I added a second class each with the reformer.  I moved from London in 2018 and was able to start up again with Laura via zoom when the pandemic hit.  Seeing her each week by zoom is a highlight in my week.

Laura is a first-rate instructor. She has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to education and training and is a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor.  Each year she does continuing education that has included a focus on fascia, something we recognize as being very important for movement, balance and flexibility.  She is able to customize classes for any age or ability level and to accommodate specific medical challenges due to her training in using Stott Pilates for rehabilitation.

Her group classes are small and she is able to provide individual attention and correction.  She is definitely focused on safety and although she always challenges us she never pushes us too far.  In all these years I have never had an injury from Pilates and I credit it with helping me remain largely injury free in the 20 years that I was running long distances (including marathons).  He energy and enthusiasm for Pilates is contagious.  That is probably why her clients like me and continue to come year after year and refer their friends!”

Laura Bain, owner of Body Align Pilates provides expert Stott Pilates instruction drawing upon her knowledge of human anatomy as well training gained through continuing education courses. I have attended Laura’s Group Pilates classes for several years and find that the foundation of her teaching in the Stott Pilates method to be exceptional. She has the ability to provide attention to the needs of an individual client even in a group setting. Laura’s focus on myofasical stretch and release techniques has improved my flexility and strength. Laura’s knowledge of how the body works and how Stott Pilates can help is exceptional. She takes a personal interest in each individual in her classes and their particular needs. In her group sessions she will always offer a modification of an exercise for those recovering from an injury to ensure they proceed safely and at their own pace. Laura was recommended to me by a health care professional in 2017 to help prepare for a hip replacement surgery. With Laura’s help I was well prepared and as such recovered quickly.
